Alicia shoots Italian Vogue
Imagine being in such demand that you have to turn down gigs by Dolce & Gabbana. These days, that's the deal with Alicia Burke, Pulse's new sensation and, arguably, the fastest rising star in global fashion this year! Due to scheduling conflicts, she is unable to do many of the major gigs on offer. Such was the case in Naples during the just-concluded Paris couture shows.
A few weeks ago, Alicia shot Italian Vogue with the great Steven Meisel, who now has her on option for a number of new assignments, even as she flies to London to shoot the cover and 10 pages (by herself) of Double magazine. Before Italian Vogue, she shot Mixte magazine in Paris - also 10 pages, and before that she did her first couture shows in Paris.
WORKING TO STARDOM
Option after option, assignment after assignment, Alicia is working her way to superstardom before heading home to Jamaica for the summer, for some much-needed and well-earned R & R.
Until then, she is booked solid, holding confirmed bookings (and options) for amazing clients such as Ralph Lauren.
After seven months in the international market, Alicia's record breaking journey includes assignments for the likes of French Vogue (12 pages by herself with David Simms), cover and 18 pages of Harper's Bazaar, Style.com, Gucci, Prada, Me & Em, Versace, i-D, Benetton, The Sunday Times, Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood, 1883, Top Shop, Bottega Veneta, Theory with David Simms, Lesley Goring, Harvey Nichols, Tush, J. JS Lee, and Azzedine Alaia.
Other clients include Emelio de la Morena, Bora Akeem, Sibling, Osman, Amanda, Schiaparelli, Self Service with Matteo Montanari, Elie Saab, Viktor & Rolf, The Last Magazine with Dan Martensen, and Clare Richardson, as well as Double magazine.
After Alicia's Gucci appearance in May, Vogue had this to say, "When a great model arrives, everyone takes notice". Models.com, in its maiden feature on the hot new star, Alicia said she is "the perfect canvas".
The ¸ber hot winner of Pulse's 2015 Caribbean Model Search Reality TV show, Burke is commanding the attention of fashion editors in Europe, as the United States prepares for her arrival in the New York market next season. Days after her arrival in Jamaica for CFW, she was rushed back to Europe (missing the Saturday and Sunday night shows) to shoot for Style.com in Paris. To say she is in high demand would be stating the obvious.
No doubt her fans in Bullet Tree district, Old Harbour, are anxious to have her home. Her agency Pulse is super excited by her success and is planning a special homecoming later in the summer for its latest superstar.
