The Orginal Arm Candy

Beautiful wrist trinkets are all the rage these days. But The Original Arm Candy is in a class by itself.

To hear its creator Gianna Fakhourie tell the story, the line was born out of necessity. "After an attempt to heal myself with gemstones after complications of chik-V, I was never able to hold on to a bracelet long enough to see if it was working because people would come and buy them off my wrist! Now I'm too obsessed with stacking and creating new styles and showing them off, to keep wearing the same ones long enough to see if it works. But the good news is my customers tell me that they do work! And the great news is that they keep coming back for more."

That was just a year ago. Today Fakhourie is the official stacker with The Original Arm Candy.

Why the name The Original Arm Candy? "Because Arm Candy was just not sufficient. Arm Candy is used to talk about anything you use to decorate your arm. But The Original is a specific, necessary one. A must-have. The one you trust, the one you can depend on. And that is how the entire company is developed. My name is on all the boxes so that you know who to come to if you need more, or in the unlikely event that you have a problem. Arm Candy was an important part of our name as well because we thought of when you eat candy - you never eat just one. Like Skittles or Starburst or M&Ms- you eat a few. Well, our stacking model is just like candy; you are encouraged to '#stackemup', so you mix and match and put a few together and have fun with it."

The company is currently celebrating its first anniversary, and Fakhourie is commemorating the occasion with a brand new collection featuring new stones.

As the demand has grown, so has the business, and what started out as a one-woman job has outgrown that arrangement. "I still make lots of them, but I definitely have help and I still oversee the process for consistency of design, and, of course, the quantity that is worthy of my name. And our bracelets all have a sterling silver bead with my signature on it, so that you can be sure of authenticity," said Fakhourie."
