You, me and Pretty Little TeePee

Let's face it: children pretty much take over just about everywhere when they're around. But maybe it is that they need a special place to call their own. That's where Pretty Little TeePee comes into play.

Just in case you were wondering what exactly a teepee is, it's a cone-shaped tent stemming from indigenous peoples, like native American Indians, and in the eyes of a child, it may function as a tree house of sorts.

Designer and owner of Pretty Little Teepee, Angella Blair, revealed that the concept was birthed from a simple weekend of playtime with her daughter, Leila and they haven't looked back since. "Being new to motherhood, I have to be constantly thinking of ways to keep my active toddler engaged. She is three years old and at this stage, she has started to host play dates with her dolls as her imagination develops," she explained to the Flair.

BUILDING FORTS

No stranger to teepees herself, she confessed that as a child, she would often build forts using sheets and broomsticks with her siblings and now, she has passed down this innovative tradition to her beautiful offspring. "I wanted to create something that would always be ready for her to use as play, and when I did, she loved it so much! After that, it hit me that maybe other children would share similar joy with this project, hence the decision to create little teepees," she added.

So, how does it all work? You place your order based on colour, theme, fabric and age of the child to coincide with the size of the teepee - they currently stock six feet, regular, and doll size. From there, the fabric is then sent to you, the client, for approval and the teepee building process begins. "All of our teepees are made locally which is great for building Brand Jamaica. Our teepees are skillfully made with pride and love," Blair highlighted.

With plans to expand the business regionally and internationally, child's play in the great outdoors or even indoors just got better with Pretty Little Teepee.
