While the rain drenched the capital last Thursday, inside the ballroom at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel was warm and cozy and like-minded individuals gathered to celebrate those who give of themselves. The Council of Voluntary Social Services hosted their 2018 National Volunteer and Awards Banquet. 

Monsignor Gregory Ramkisoon was inducted into the CVSS Hall of Fame. Other awardees included:

Sagicor Foundation receiving the Private Sector Volunteer of the Year award; 

2018 Young Leader Volunteer of the year went to Keenan Falconer, founder of the Inner-City Quiz;

Non-Profit Organisation of the year went to Lanisia Rhoden for her Link your Purpose; 

Public Sector Volunteer of the Year went to Sergeant Nickoyon Brown, founder of the School Boy Mentorship Programme;

Jamaica Cancer Society received the CVSS member Agency of Year;

and Marilyn Williams received the award for Outstanding Volunteer of the Year.
