Inspired by a wayward quest to capture the unique cultures around the world, Brianne Fearon discovered her passion for art, design, and fashion. Her brand, Bri Exquisites, flourishes through her accessories line, Bags By Bri which consist of handcrafted bags collected from various exotic crevices around the world. “I love to travel and I always find unique accessories to purchase. Whenever I came back, persons always fell in love with each item, and it dawned on me that there is a market for this,” explained Fearon.

With bags from countries such as Indonesia and various parts of Africa, each bag comes with its own statement. “The bags I currently have are made from rattan fibres, which is one of the strongest materials in East Asia,” said Fearon. From her travels to the region, she has collaborated with several artisans who agreed to make the bags for export to Jamaica. Rattan bags are the current summer craze worldwide and are in high demand. Each rattan bag is carefully hand-woven with one-of-a-kind embroidery that makes each bag very unique. The bags come in a variety of shapes, which include round and square. Her other types of bags are made from the bamboo shoot, which enhances the exoticness of any outfit.

“Indonesia is not the only place I plan to stop. Wherever I travel, I will always try to find other unique accessories and items that match my brand,” said Fearon.

Bags by Bri was established in 2018 and has been flourishing since its inception. “My bags are unique, they are eccentric and perfect for a woman who likes to be different with her fashion and stand out of the crowd,” said Fearon, who is also a full-time medical sales representative. With her love for fashion, design, and interior decor, Fearon took the plunge when she decided to enter into the world of entrepreneurship with Bri Exquisites. “The brand is an extension of myself,” she said.

“Becoming an entrepreneur is very scary because it is a huge risk,” she explained. One of her major challenges includes accepting a loss when products are damaged during shipment. “There is nothing you can really do about it, you just have to make the most with what you have left,” she said. Her advice for anyone who is interested in starting their own business is to overcome the fear of failing and just go for it. “If you do not try and do what you always wanted to start, then how will you know if it will ever become successful,” stated Fearon.
