Owner Nickaley Brown came up with the idea to start Pineapple Stitch in 2017 after learning traditional tips and tricks from her grandmother. “She was the one who taught me how to crochet, but I started to venture out from doilies and blankets,” said Brown. After several trials, the world of crochet took flight and her love for creating custom apparel soared. “I was amazed at the things that could be done with just a hook and yarn,” she explained.
For Brown, confidence and comfort are major factors to consider when wearing clothes. “I want people to feel like they can do anything in Pineapple Stitch. When something fits you right, and makes you a look a certain way, it really does affect your mood and how you perceive things,” said Brown.
