Miss Lily's Opens new restaurant in Dubai

Miss Lily's, a New York City restaurant that celebrates Jamaican foods and has riveted the palates of diners for years, has opened a new restaurant in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, earlier this week.
The newest Miss Lily's is located in the Sheraton Grand Hotel in the heart of Dubai's business district. Many of the thrills that have made the American restaurants a success have been transplanted to the Middle Eastern location to provide an exciting Jamaican dining experience for visitors and residents alike.
The classic Jamaican flavour of the Miss Lily's brand will be retained with signature dishes such as jerked chicken, codfish fritters, coconut crusted jerked corn and pepper shrimp. New dishes that are exclusive to the Dubai location have also been created in conjunction with the local team there, utilising Jamaican ingredients such as the pimento and tamarind glazed lamb ribs with pickled apricots, pistachio and coriander.
Spirits, cocktails, lager beer, non-alcoholic beverages and fresh fruit and vegetable juice blends will also be offered. Miss Lily's Dubai will be importing Red Stripe beer as well as the popular grapefruit soda - Ting. An exclusive to the region will be the Jamaican Shandy, a mix of Red Stripe and Ting.
BEACH THEME
The new restaurant boasts a Caribbean beach-themed ambience decorated with bright colours and wild, clashing designs. The walls are embellished with vinyl album covers and the background music is, of course, reggae blended with old-school ska and slices of dancehall.
The new venture is a partnership between the original New York City owners including renowned designer Serge Becker, chairman of Jamaica's Rock House Hotel & Foundation, Paul Salmon, and international partners Varum Khemaney and Khalil Dahmash.
"We're very excited to have opened our first international venture in Dubai this week, and the team there led by our executive chef Adam Schop has done an awesome job in creating a first-class Jamaican experience for our diners," Salmon told Food.
Miss Lily's has existing locations at West Houston Street in the West Village, and on Avenue A in the East Village in New York City.
