The Swaying of palm trees in the cool evening breeze coupled with spicy yet delectable dishes, made for an amazing experience at the grand opening of 8 Spices Restaurant and Bar recently.
Foodies gathered at the oasis in Manor Park to escape the mean streets of Constant Spring, giving in to the savoury and sweet temptations on the menu. It was a Jamaican expedition from its tropical decor and roots backyard vibe with faux jerk pan tables. The mood was further set with easygoing music that kept you entertained but did not drown out your conversation.
However, it was the dishes that truly gave that authentic, rich, 'yardie' flavour. You could taste black, green and gold in just about everything. From the spicy sugar cane cocktail their smooth signature drink - to the blended fruit punch and pina colada screaming all things tropical. Roasted fish with roast corn and bammy, jerked chicken, loaded fries, wings, burger, wedges, spicy pasta, among others, had taste buds salivating for more!
