A new answer to the delivery of tasty dishes in Portmore, St Catherine, has been found, and it’s called the Chilluxe Restaurant and Lounge.

The eatery, which opened its doors six months ago at lot 1 Port Henderson Road, Portmore, is an epicurean oasis to the palates of many.

The well-appointed eatery is said to have derived its name for a meaningful purpose, which means ‘chili ‘n’ luxury’, and has been living up to its name.

“We opened our doors in March this year and our clientele continues to make traction. This is as a result of the service that is designed by our customers,” said co-owner Odel McKenzie.

During a recent visit by Food, there was a delightful display of delectable offerings available.

Among the dishes were the Chilluxe delight chicken burger and fries, baked chicken with mashed potatoes, pasta salad, steamed fish in coconut sauce and vegetables, and a chicken-and-shrimp pasta dish.

The assortment of side dishes compriseS roasted potatoes, breadfruit, bammies, festival, rice and peas, plus other entrées and orders demanded by customers.

Chef Marc Hylton and his colleagues ensure the daily delivery of the desired meals.

‘’I have a Level Two certificate in food preparation from the Runaway HEART Academy and have been cooking for more than five years. The most important people are the customers. As such, we aim to please by cooking clean, fresh foods to keep them happy,’’ Hylton said.

The venue, which is centrally located along the business strip, has a lovely view of the Caribbean Sea, which can be enjoyed while dining.

“This place has ample space for parking, and also has a good area for parties receptions and other social events,” Shanaye Smith, an employee, said.

“Chilluxe is open from 11 a.m. daily until the last customer leaves. This is a competitive business, so we have to build it gradually to suit the niche market of patrons who, after a day’s work, want to sit and unwind, while awaiting their favourite meals or sipping a cold beverage from the lounge,’’ added co-owner Dave Campbell.

Food was informed that for those who cannot physically visit Chilluxe, orders can be delivered throughout Portmore and its environs.

Contact Chilluxe at 876-539-3786 or 876-842-6294 for more information.
