The festive season is fast approaching, and Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited (CPJ) is on a mission to enhance the holiday experience with the introduction of St-Rémy Signature to the local market.

With Jamaica being the leading consumer of another spirit from the parent company, Remy Cointreau, St-Rémy Signature is affordable luxury in a bottle, perfect for the ever-present Jamaican affliction to ‘feel fi sumn nice.’

The St-Rémy Signature is a luminous bright-amber colour with intensified, fiery-red sparks. The aroma that greets you is a sweet scent of virgin wood, spices like vanilla, coconut, almond, and fresh fruits. The taste graces your tongue and is subtle and smooth with pure woody notes enriched with honey, nut, and butter flavours; the fruity notes start fresh and then become candied. The sweet spices create roundness and balance.

“It is the expression of 130 years of brandy-making expertise,” said Pascale Sold, Rémy Cointreau’s Caribbean zone manager.

This ‘Signature’ St-Rémy varietal is the first original creation of Master Blender Cécile Roudaut, whom The Spirits Business has just awarded Blender of the Year 2022 for St-Rémy. The delectable innovation was achieved by exploring new production processes and aromas while staying true to ancient techniques.

The process begins with selecting the highest quality French grapes from the finest French vineyards. Those grapes are turned into wines, bringing smoothness and French authenticity to St-Rémy. The French wines are then heated using continuous copper-column distillation, following French traditions. The ageing process takes place in small oak barrels, with their master blender then stepping in to perform the art of blending. The creation is then bottled in the Loire Valley and shipped worldwide.

Roudaut said: “While respecting French brandy-making traditions, I have added a maturation stage in small virgin oak barrels, which marks its distinction.” The double-maturation process Roudaut speaks to elevates the experience.

According to Roudaut: “The result is a smooth brandy with elegant notes of vanilla, a hint of toasted French oak, and a velvety texture. It can be enjoyed neat or in cocktails, shared with your closest friends.”

The best way to enjoy St-Rémy Signature is neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails. Here are three creative cocktails to try out featuring St-Rémy Signature.
