Late Restaurant Week innovator to receive posthumous honour
Lifestyle doyenne and Restaurant Week (RW) ideator Stephanie Scott is to be posthumously inducted into the Order of Distinction in the rank of Officer.
The late innovator is being honoured for her services in the field of culinary arts and event management.
A former Montessori teacher for 29 years, Scott notably reinvented herself at the age of 50 with the start of her business, SSCO Event Management, and with the conceptualisation of RW, the notable week in November for foodies to eat out at reduced prices, sponsored by The Gleaner since its inception in 2005.
Scott passed away due to a vehicular accident in February 2021.
RW is now managed by Debra Taylor-Smith. It returned for its 'Sweet 16' staging in 2022 and was sponsored by the Jamaica Observer.
