The residents of Central Village in St Catherine came out early Saturday morning to join The Gleaner’s Fit 4 Life team and guests for a workout session that was high intensity and high energy.

Fitness coach Marvin Gordon took the gathering at the Central Village Multi-Purpose Centre through a boot camp circuit that had participants stopping to catch their breath and digging deep for the stamina to power through.

Legs, abs, core, arms, cardio...the boot camp circuit worked every muscle in the body and truly tested your fitness level.

At the end of it, dance instructor Joe Harris took everyone through a routine of all the latest moves to cool down, which really reenergised.

During the break, power shakes from sponsor Foska Oats and Blue Diamond Almond Milk were quite welcoming.

Of course, WATA, another sponsor, kept everyone hydrated throughout the morning with cases of water.

Yet, it still wasn’t over, as Gordon had three hard challenges lined up for participants to win some great prizes – WATA, Static Hold and the circuit Aerobics challenges.

Winners earned prizes such as: a phone and phone credit from FLOW, gift baskets from sponsors Foska Oats and Blue Diamond Almond Milk, Fit 4 Life T-Shirts and water bottles, and Gleaner-branded merchandise.

Everyone also got handouts with nutrition and exercise tips courtesy of Fit 4 Life, and complimentary Gleaner.

Big up to Dwight Peccoo, president of the Central Village Benevolent Society and secretary Simone Richards, as well as the residents of Central Village.

This Saturday, December 9, the Fit 4 Life team will join the staff at FLOW. Starting at 6:30 am, instructors Kurt, Kevin and Marvin will take participants through a series of workouts that will include aerobics, obstacle courses, weights and abs circuits, and challenges.
