Twenty-four-year-old medical doctor Sanneta Myrie prescribed a dose of beauty and talent that saw her finish among the top five out of 120 beauties who faced off at 65th Miss World competition in Sanya, China, yesterday.

Myrie fought hard and represented the country and herself with poise and grace that forced the judges to include her with the representatives of Spain, Russia, Indonesia, and Lebanon in the top five.

The competition was eventually won by Spain's Mireia Lalaguna Royo, a 23-year-old professional model from Barcelona. Miss Russia finished second and Miss Indonesia third.

Myrie also finished third in the talent section of the competition and scored big at the annual Miss World Charity Gala Event as the items she took to be auctioned were among the highest bids for the night.

Her items, which included Usain Bolt-autographed trainers, one-of-a-kind art pieces and cultural emblems, raked in US$6,500 and tied as the highest bid of the night.

Though it was no surprise that she made it so far, based on the cheers in the audience and the judges' comments, Myrie was grateful right throughout the competition.

After she made it to the top-five cut and was asked why she should be named Miss World 2015, she responded: "I am so grateful. My story is one of a little girl whose life was transformed with charity and love and I want to give that back to others."
