Today marks Digicel Jamaica's 15th anniversary, with the company having welcomed its first customer on April 19, 2001.

To celebrate the occasion, Digicel said it would be rewarding 15 customers (one in each parish, plus one from social media), by granting them special wishes.

"You would have seen an anonymous advertisement posted to the Gleaner social media pages, as well as in the Sunday paper, asking for persons to send in their wishes for someone they love or know is in need. The response has been overwhelming and we look forward to reading these letters to ascertain which lucky 15 persons wishes will be granted," said David Butler, CEO of Digicel Jamaica.

Explaining the thought behind the project, Butler went on to share that, "this year, we wanted to celebrate our customers and thank them for being loyal to us for the past 15 years, as we could not have reached this milestone without them".

He added: "We have enjoyed serving our customers and we look forward to another 15 years of providing them with the best value, service and technology."

ISLANDWIDE PHONE SALE

In addition to granting the wishes, the company will also be having a one-day islandwide phone sale where consumers can get up to 25 per cent off select phones. Not to be left out, fans on social media will be in for a treat with 15 hours of giveaways from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Through the Digicel Foundation's 'Mek a Muckle' programme, another 15 persons will be rewarded with a grant of US$1,500 each to start or improve their schools, youth clubs, community groups, and any organisations that are looking to make a positive contribution towards special needs, education and entrepreneurship projects.
