Jamaica will observe International Women's Day today, March 8, with a number of events across the country.

These events include the Women's Leadership Initiative, which is hosting a breakfast forum at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel today, from 7 a.m.-10 a.m. The forum, under the theme 'Be Bold For Change', will celebrate the fact that many women in Jamaica have made commendable strides in their professional lives. It is, however, cognisant of the fact that many still endure a social existence that is unacceptable.

The International Women's Day march from Emancipation Park to the top of Knutsford Boulevard and back to Emancipation Park starts at 4 p.m. The march is being staged under the theme, 'I Support the Campaign to End Gender-based Violence'.

The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport will host an International Women's Day concert at Emancipation Park, beginning at 6 p.m.
