Children lead in being the 'hands and feet of Christ' through OSAY!

Thousands of youngsters turned out yesterday to become the "hands and feet of Jesus Christ", rendering assistance to the needy in St Catherine and also learning important life skills like discipline and teamwork, thanks to the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists through Operation Save a Youth (OSAY) 2017.
Individuals were assigned to different groups, tasked with various objects, including renovating houses, painting buildings, and cleaning the Hellshire beach in Portmore, St Catherine.
President of the Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Levi Johnson, told The Gleaner yesterday that the idea surrounding and influencing the event was transformation.
"We are the hands and feet of Jesus Christ today," Johnson said.
"The theme is transformation. It is our intention that each life, each home, each community and zone will be touched, and transformation will take place. These are young people, young adults, and they are here to preach a sermon, not verbally, but to show the practical side of Christianity."
Johnson stated that this year's staging was better than previous years.
The Central Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists includes all Seventh-day Adventist churches in the parishes of Manchester, Clarendon and St Catherine. Members from these parishes were out in their numbers to participate and show support.
