Tesha's deportation delayed

The deportation of reputed Jamaican gang leader Tesha Miller from The Bahamas, which was expected to happen yesterday, has been placed on hold.

Assistant Commissioner Ealan Powell, head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force's Criminal Investigation Branch, said the decision was taken by the Bahamian authorities.

Miller, who is believed to be the leader of the Clansman Gang, based in Spanish Town, St Catherine, was reportedly held in The Bahamas for illegally entering that country.

Powell told The Gleaner that the reputed Clansman leader would be deported on a date to be agreed between Jamaican and Bahamian authorities.

He was also deported from the United States last April.

Miller was listed as a person of interest by police investigators last August, following a series of violent crimes, including murder, in the Spanish Town area.

"Naturally, he will be taken into our custody when he returns," Powell said, in reference to Miller's deportation.
