MANCHESTER, Jamaica:
Sixteen people were rushed to hospital with injuries this morning, after a Toyota Hiace mini bus in which they were travelling overturned on the Melrose Bypass in Manchester.
The bus plies the Old Harbour to Mandeville route.
The Manchester police say about 7:30 a.m., the bus was travelling in the outer lane of the Melrose Bypass towards Mandeville when it swerved to avoid colliding with a vehicle that was improperly overtaking another coming from the opposite direction.
The bus then hit a stone which blew out a tyre, causing the vehicle to overturn.
All sixteen passengers were taken to the Mandeville Regional Hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.
