Pathologist testifies teen was alive when he was shot second time

A forensic pathologist has testified that, Ravin Thompson, the teenage boy who was shot during a joint police-military operation in Whitfield Town, St Andrew in 2007 was alive when he was wounded a second time.

According to Dr S N Prasad Kadiyala, a post-mortem examination revealed that Thompson was shot three times and died from the cumulative effects of the three bullets.

However, Prasad acknowledged that the three bullet wounds, by themselves, could have been fatal.

He was giving evidence in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston this morning  in the murder trial of former police constable Mark Russell.

Prosecutors have alleged that Russell and another former police constable, identified as Morris Lee, placed a police-issued M16 rifle in the teen's hands before shooting him along Darling Street in downtown Kingston.

The official police report said Thompson was killed during a confrontation with gunmen.
