In seconds, shouts of jubilation in Half-Way Tree Square turned to anguish as defeat soaked into the psyche of those who turned out to witness Usain Bolt's last individual race yesterday.

The sprint legend, after a slow start, fought his way back to a bronze medal, leaving a bittersweet taste in the mouths of all who turned out to honour the greatest sprint legend of all time.
