Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has revealed that full service will resume today at its Cross Road offices in St Andrew.

The office was closed early yesterday after smoke engulfed the first floor of the five storey building located on Old Hope Road.

The smoke nuisance force employees and members of the public to evacuate the building. TAJ said employees were redeployed to its offices in Constant Spring, St Andrew and downtown Kingston.

Firefighters, who were quick on the scene, revealed that the smoke was due to a small fire in an air-condition unit, which was quickly extinguished.

Late yesterday, officials at TAJ revealed that an assessment was conducted and that they were given the greenlight to resume normal operations.
