Atlanta politician loyal Buju fan

Le’Dor Milteer is a politician from Atlanta. But you probably wouldn’t know it just by looking at her. Milteer, along with her close friend Sarah, was among the thousands of ecstatic fans who gathered to welcome Buju Banton to the stage for the opening of the Long Walk to Freedom Tour.
With the hem of her shorts tucked high, she sang out the hook of the Gargamel’s hit song B****rider – when asked what she hoped to hear.
“I’m telling you, we’re so excited. My girlfriend Sarah and I grew up together in Florida – from 16 years old – and we saw Buju perform when we were 16. And we are 41 and 42 now, and we said we’re coming to the concert,” Milteer, a former rapper, told The Gleaner.
As she danced around in the super-exclusive ultra VIP section, she unabashedly declared that she was having the time of her life, in her complete island experience.
“The energy is amazing. We’re at the Pegasus – and we’ve been enjoying road-side chicken! Escoveitch fish, jerk chicken, street food – I mean, we are having a blast! The beautiful weather, the beautiful people of Jamaica – we’re in love,” she said.
Along with Milteer, there were some seasoned visitors in the audience who, just like her, came to soak up the nostalgia.
Serial entrepreneur Benjamin Barokas told The Gleaner that he visits the island every year. However, this trip was significant, and perhaps a spiritual experience for the businessman.
“It’s almost religion. Coming back after so many years; we grew up with this music. You feel it in your heart and in your soul. It brings us back to this ... right now, right here,” he said, making a sweeping gesture from the stage to the crowd.
