88 years for murder - Siblings killed woman, children in 2018

Two siblings who pleaded guilty to the 2018 murder of a woman and her two siblings have been sentenced to a total of 88 years in prison. However, they will only spend 36 years behind bars.
Justice Lorna Shelly-Williams sentenced siblings Jamelia Leslie and Javone Leslie to 36 years for the murder of Kasheif Jackson, and 21 years, respectively, for the murder of the deceased’s two-year-old and seven-day-old children. They were also sentenced to 10 years for arson. The sentences will run concurrently.
It was alleged that on July 18, 2018, about 10:15 a.m., Jackson and her two children were found dead inside their home, covered with evidence of burning and soot.
There was no sign of forced entry.
The post-mortem revealed that Jackson sustained stab wounds to the face, chest, abdomen, arms, and neck. The cause of death were stab wounds inflicted to the neck as well as smoke inhalation. The children were determined to have died from smoke inhalation.
In her caution statement, Jamelia Leslie said that on the night of the incident, she and her brother walked from Guava Ridge to Tower Hill and used a key to gain entry to Jackson’s home.
She admitted to stabbing Jackson twice with a kitchen knife while her brother inflicted the wounds to the neck.
Javone, in his statement, said that his sister had asked him to follow her, telling him that she had received threats from Jackson.
