Robinson... has been ill for some time.

The Minister of Labour and Social Security Shahine Robinson has been hospitalised.

Robinson has been battling an illness for some time, but The Gleaner understands that she became very weak yesterday.

Robinson, who is also the Member of Parliament for St Ann North East has been in and out of hospital since 2018.

In 2018, General Secretary of the Jamaica Labour Party to which Robinson belongs, confirmed that Robinson had been doing tests overseas.

Since yesterday, there has been no official communication from the Andrew Holness administration regarding Robinson.

Robinson has been MP since 2001 when she won a by-election in the traditional People's National Party constituency of St Ann North East.
