WESTERN BUREAU:

A DNA sample is needed from Rahjif Morgan, the man charged with the murder of University of Technology student Demar Stennett, in order for the case against him to progress in the St James Circuit Court.

During Morgan’s brief appearance before presiding High Court Justice Glen Brown on Wednesday, prosecutor Maxine Jackson told the court that while the prosecution had received outstanding DNA analysis results, a sample of Morgan’s DNA was still needed for analysis.

Subsequent to Jackson’s request, Morgan was given a November 27 court date. His bail was extended until that date.

Stennett was stabbed to death along Merriam Way, near Westgate Hills in Montego Bay, on January 5. He reportedly stabbed 54 times.
