New curfew hours, rules for bars and churches
The Government has announced new curfew hours and new rules for bars and churches as Jamaica seeks to adjust to life amid the coronavirus.
At a press conference at Jamaica House on Monday, Prime Minister Andrew Holness said, as of May 13, the current nightly curfew will be relaxed, allowing for more hours for people to move about.
However, on Sunday, May 24 and on Labour Day, Monday, May 25 it will be tightened.

Meanwhile, Local Government Minister Desmond McKenzie has announced that as of May 19, bars will be allowed to open from 11 a.m.
They must, however, be closed during the curfew hours.

Churches will also now be allowed to resume services.
However, the Prime Minister said they will be subjected to new guidelines as the government seeks to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
Of significance, churches will be required to do temperature checks on people entering the building.
They are also being encouraged to consider more than one service for the day and there should be no mixing of persons from different services.
The Prime Minister said, a break should be enforced after each service to allow for sanitisation before the start of the next service.

In the meantime, the Prime Minister said people over the age of 65 years must remain home unless to carry out necessary activities.
