Daughter offers US$5K reward in father’s murder

Two years after the death of her father and frustrated by the lack of information from the police on the investigation and its failure to apprehend the killer, Brittina Brooke has offered a US$5,000 reward for credible leads on the murder.

Brittina, the daughter of the late Devon Brooke, announced the reward in an interview with The Gleaner.

Mr Brooke was shot and killed on the night of July 10, 2018. His body was found in the driveway of his Stony Hill home with gunshot wounds.

Recounting her efforts to get information, Ms Brooke, who resides in the United States, said she has grown weary with what she describes as a lack of effort by the local constabulary to bring her father’s killer to justice.

A police report from the Constant Spring station citing Sergeant Frank Morrison and Inspector Paul Campbell said that neighbours had heard four shots at 8:10 p.m. Mr Brooks’ speeding car alarmed residents, who visited his home to find his body in the driveway, Brittina said.

Brittina said that Morrison went on to explain that her father’s van was found at the bottom of Smokey Vale. There were no prints in the van, but there was DNA evidence.

Enquiries about her father’s missing iPhone have also left her dissatisfied.

Detailing her frustration, Brittina said that she has been stymied at every turn in the hunt for information about her father’s killing.

She said that she has made several trips to the Constant Spring Police Station, which has been handling the investigation, but those visits have led nowhere.

When contacted, the police told The Gleaner that the investigation into Mr Brooke’s death was ongoing.
