Former MoBay Chamber head Nathan Robb dies

Former president of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MBCCI), attorney-at-law Nathan Robb, has died.
Robb, 68, died at the Hospiten hospital in Montego Bay on Wednesday afternoon after reportedly suffering a stroke last weekend.
Eleven years ago, Robb was forced to have bypass surgery owing to a heart attack but was actively involved in the legal fraternity up to his death.
The former Cornwallian, who operated Clarke and Robb Attorneys-at-Law in Montego Bay for several years, also served as council member of the Cornwall Bar Association for more than a decade.
His death has sent shock waves throughout the city of Montego Bay, with president of the MBCCI, Janet Silvera, lauding him for his work as a prominent legal luminary.
“He was a very outspoken and fearless advocate on behalf of the city of Montego Bay, and he took that fervour into the chamber, where he served in various capacities, including legal counsel and director, before being elected as president,” Silvera said.
Robb served from 2013 to 2015.
President of the Cornwall Bar Association, Lambert Johnson, described Robb as a giant who had sharp wit and who was always willing to share his knowledge and experience with young counsel.
“His death came as a great shock and is met with great lamentation,” said Johnson.
Last Tuesday, Robb and Johnson attended a council meeting and he was reportedly very alert.
“He asked some insightful questions and made profound pronouncements,” Johnson said.
Robb died leaving wife Jackie and three children, Kim Robb-Bryan, Nataline Robb-Cato, and Leon Nathan Robb.
