Correction re Grade Four Exam data

THE EDITOR, Sir:
In your editorial of 4th instant titled 'The Budget, grade four test and university bailout', you referred to the results representing a four percentage-point decline from 2016. This is inaccurate.
The results published in print media on May 3 and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information's website at http://www.moey.gov.jm/grade-four-numeracy-test-results-school refer to exams sat in June 2016. Any comparative analysis with a previous year's sitting should therefore be 2015.
The Grade Four Literacy Exams for 2017 are scheduled for June 21 and the Numeracy Exams for June 22.
