Big up Bakers Delight!

Published:Tuesday | November 20, 2018 | 4:28 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I read an interesting letter in your Monday publication. It was not until I saw the letter that I realised that I, too, share these same sentiments. Kindly allow me this avenue to add my two cents.

Good customer service is so hard to find in Jamaica. From the biggest, most established businesses to the corner shop, this one thing seems to be the most elusive characteristic of all. I have lived in Red Hills, St Andrew, all my life, and for the most part of the past 10 years, I have had to frequent the Bakers Delight establishment on Chancery Street. Though small and really a typical Jamaican patty shop, the staff has always been pleasant and helpful. In fact, it is the only place, outside of Coronation Bakery in Portland, where I can get hot fresh bread any time of the day.

Whenever my grown children visit from the States now, that is our first stop, because they have wonderful fond memories of this place.

Jamaica is made up of these kinds of mom and pop shops that truly add that personal touch Jamaicans are well known for worldwide.

Sometimes we take things for granted and don't tip our hats where we should, so I want to take the opportunity to say 'big up' for the great service over the years and an excellent range of products.
