COVID-19 is still around

THE EDITOR, Madam:
COVID-19 is a reality and our dilemma remains the same. What to do to protect ourselves from the seemingly ever-present virus.
To be vaccinated or not to be vaccinated, that is the question. Most have opted for the vaccine.
How quickly we forgot what we were going through just two years ago at the peak of the pandemic. The sacrifices, the lockdowns, the overwhelming strain on our healthcare system that we still haven’t recovered from. These are just some of the reminders of why we must remain vigilant and embrace proven yet simple and effective hygiene practices that were also applied in the early 1920s of the bird flu pandemic to protect not only ourselves and our loved ones.
Let us commit to these practices and continue our efforts to support each other in the ongoing fight against COVID-19.
