The Gorge is in a deplorable state

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I write to express my frustration with the state of the road in the Bog Walk Gorge, close to the area known as Kent Village, in St Catherine.

That roadway is full of potholes which have evolved to what seems as ‘manholes’ with the heavy rains recently.

Every day the traffic to go through that roadway seems to get worst. I spent almost two hours traversing through that patch of road last Friday, October 18. This was partly because of an accident where a truck carrying paint had a few of the buckets capsize in the said road. This slowed down the vehicles even more, as only one side of the already bad road was being used.

The next section of the road that badly needs repair is the roundabout at Bog Walk which has a massive, gigantic pothole on the left side heading to Spanish Town. This urgently needs repair, as it also causes delays, leading to traffic pile-up, especially at peak hours.

I am therefore calling on the relevant authorities to have this section of the roadway rectified at the earliest.
