Accept the differences that exist

THE EDITOR, Madam:

​“Merry Christmas to all” or as I’m now told to say “Happy holidays” or “Season’s greetings”.

Several well-meaning persons have told me that it could be offensive, but persons from various non-Christian faiths with whom I speak are quite happy with the greeting and see it as positive.

The woke world emphasises blandness, and not causing offence but that takes the pleasure out of life.

It would be best to accept the differences that exist and support them rather than try to silence the well meaning.

Anyway, I know a few people who will be getting coal from Santa in their Xmas stockings although Santa may have been told that coal is environmentally damaging.
