Ask the Doc: Confused about my priorities
Q: I have to choose between sending my children back to school or a medical appointment for my husband. What do I do?
A: Speak with your husband's doctor and the school to determine if a payment plan can be effected. Look at the options for your husband's medical issues and see if there is any help available. Speak with the guidance counsellor at the school and see if any support is possible.
Q: I see my students who I taught in high school and college living better lives, financially, than I am. How is that fair? I feel so frustrated at times.
A: Do not envy others. Remember that what you see is only the surface of a person's life. Sit down and plan how you may become successful. You have talents and abilities that you have been blessed with. Use them to help others and glorify God and you will be blessed.
Q: My friend's sister is dying of cancer and she does not even contribute to the medical bill. Is it OK for me to approach the sister about it?
A: Your friend needs to approach her sister to ask for help. If there is an issue between them, they need to resolve it.
