MAJ Symposium and conference debuts new technology
Several of Jamaica's medical minds converged on the Jamaica Pegasus for the Medical Association of Jamaica (MAJ) Symposium 2017 and conference held last weekend.
Under the theme: 'A National Public Health Problem', the annual conference drew the attendance and attention of the likes of: Minister of Health, Dr Christopher Tufton, Chief Medical Officer Dr Winston De la Haye; leading neurosurgeon Dr Carl Bruce, and Dr Shane Alexis, family physician and former president of the Jamaica Medical Doctors Association.
Among the highlights of the three-day event, was the unveiling of three local technology-based medical service companies — Doctors on Call- a consultancy-based service, Advance Integrated Systems, a leading provider for large enterprise solutions, and DigiScripts — a new electronic medical management and transcription system.
The opening ceremony concluded with a cocktail hour hosted by the Jamaica National Bank.
