The American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ) celebrated the season on December 15, with the first staging of its Holiday Mixer.

The focus was on connecting individuals, creating new partnerships, and sharing ideas and resources.

The event was held at the exclusive Soho House, in New York City, a location popular for being a shoot location for Sex and the City.

Chef Anna Kay Tomlinson from Miss T's Kitchen's in Ocho Rios, St Ann,  came fully prepared to impress the members in collaboration with the Jamaica Tourist Board and Blackwell Rum.

The event achieved two goals. The organisation was able to connect with an audience of film, media and other high-net members of Soho House who are not typically in attendance at their events; and Jamaican cuisine was elevated through the quality execution by Tomlinson.  Her  Miss T's oxtail bites were a hit with all guests.
