The Montego Bay Freezone appreciation cocktail

The Montego Bay Freezone Company Limited hosted clients and business partners at its annual appreciation cocktail at its administrative office last Thursday.

It has been a phenomenon year for the Port Authority of Jamaica facility, which currently has a 100 per cent capacity, and is in expansion mode, with another building preparing to host its first client in January.

The event was a partnership between the MBFZ and the Business Process Industry Association of Jamaica (BPIAJ), whose membership dominates the occupancy of the facility. The freezone also houses the secretariat and business incubator operated by the BPIAJ.    

"The BPIAJ membership are also our customers, and we are pleased with the relationship that we share," noted Gloria Henry, vice president of operations at the PAJ in charge of the Montego Bay Freezone. She continued, "It has been a good year, we have increased capacity by 10 per cent to now have 665,000 square feet of space, and we are very excited about out clients — some have expanded, others have rebranded, but excited times are ahead, and we will be tapping into the opportunities."
