To have and to hold … till death do us part. For centuries, couples have been exchanging vows in holy matrimony, with the promise to love, cherish, honour, and be there for each other forever.

Island Wedding has prided itself on sharing the unique and exciting love journeys of partners who say 'I do'. Today, we hear the happily ever-after stories of three couples who tied the knot.

From rejection to connection: Love approved

In 2014, we met Sasha and Kegan Miller. Despite his failed attempts to get Sasha to look his way, Kegan was determined to get to know her better and asked for her number whenever the right opportunities presented themselves. One day, she turned the 'No' into a 'Yes', challenging him not to write down the number and only call on it from memory. He did just that and worked his way into her heart. The two said 'I do' on November 15, 2014, and have been loving through life ever since.

Their first son, Keshaun (now eight), was already in the picture prior to their marriage. Since then, the pair has gone on to have another son, Kaheir, who is three years old. Sasha is currently with child and expected to have her third baby soon. Additionally, the Millers have gone on to purchase a house together and are devout Christians who play an active role in their church.

She was designed for him

Introduced in January of 2012, Teino Evans was presented to Suelan as her birthday present. Surely, she can now agree that he was the best present she had ever received. And he knew a month after that she was the one for him. The two got married in August of 2014 and have been growing deeper in love ever since.

Three years in, Suelan gave birth to their son, Tae, who is now four years old. The two have shifted focus to building their own businesses and taking care of the children, Tae and Raena, from his previous marriage. Evans, the former entertainment editor at the Gleaner Company Media Limited, moved on to create an entertainment programme called Next Frideh on YouTube under Teino Evans Media. "As far as updates go, we are still very much in love. We still enjoy each other's company, still touch out pon couple dance floors. We still laugh at each other's jokes. It's still all good, and I wouldn't have it any other way!"

Finding love at Love 101

Who can forget the staged robbery-turned-engagement between Brian and Basillia Cuff? The two formed a friendship while working at Love 101 FM and pretty soon, grew to love each other. The Cuffs celebrate their eighth anniversary today, January 4, and so much has changed since then. They have carried two princesses into the world, Bree'Ah-Marie and Bella-Renée. The couple packed up and left Kingston to raise their family in Mandeville. Brian went from working full time in media to becoming a lecturer part time. He subsequently became the production lab coordinator at work, freelancing in photography and media gigs when he got a chance.

Basillia also walked away from the media and went into lecturing part time. But then she discovered a new love for video. She is currently a Tik Tok sensation, social media influencer and a master of ceremonies. With the help of her husband, she also created the Sterling Gospel Awards, which has gone through five stagings, the last of which received a prime time spot on national television.

As a family, they started a YouTube channel called Stuff From The Cuffs and have seen their community grow to over ten thousand in a little over a year. "We use that platform to showcase F.I.R.E. - fun, inspiration, reality, and education," Brian said. He added: "The most stable part of our lives over the past eight years of our marriage is our love for each other and our love for God."
