The story is not finished. Last week’s featured home did not want to reveal its face in the public sphere, being somewhat of a shy temperament. A snippet of its façade was actually shown but that only aroused more curiosity.

So, after considerable coaxing and even begging, permission was granted, and we, ever grateful, have returned to the said house, isolated in a part of Jamaica that most of us never even knew existed ... until now!

This, my friends, is Christopher’s Point, Robins Bay, St Mary. Last week when we ventured here, we arrived via unpaved roads. Today, a helicopter ride flies us to the site, and what a journey of discovery this experience has granted!

You get a whole new scenic perspective of the house’s magnificent, nautical vantage point, from an incredible aerial view that you would never have received from ground level. Here, the relatively undeveloped coastline, the almost unspoilt natural environment, and a breezy dream house of unperturbed ambience - all conspire to produce an almost indescribable pleasurable feeling every time you visit here.

We are reminded that it’s a five-bedroom haven, but what was not shared before was that its design facilitates rooms on the very roof. This has created a cosy, adventurous atmosphere up there, lit by the natural sunlight from the slanted glass windows embedded in the roof.

The outdoor area, with pool, barbecue grill, beach bar, and fire pit, gives cause to be always outside as the human-nature relationship impacts you in the most positive ways.

The fortunate titleholder hails from Bath, England, famous worldwide for its ancient, thermal hot spring Roman baths, engendering peace of mind. His home here, almost surrounded by mesmerising, azure waters and a spellbinding sculptured, private sandy beach, also fosters contentment and inner peace.

“The sea is one of the most beautiful and magnificent sights in nature,” said John Joly, a 19th-century Irish physicist, and geologist. This column wholeheartedly shares those sentiments.
