It’s was the FIFA World Cup finals we were al waiting for. Defending champions France went up against the mighty Argentina, kicking off one of the greatest matches ever played in World Cup history. The showdown went down to the wire and in the end, it was Argentina who emerged victorious, scoring 4-2 in a penalty shoot-out after the match ended tied, 3-3. Fans turned up in droves at Fan Central on Waterloo Road and Kingston Jerk on Chelsea Avenue to cheer on their favourite team. So, too, did the French Ambassador to Jamaica, Olivier Guyonvarch, and José Grande Pérez, chargé d’affaires at the Argentinian Embassy in Jamaica.

An overjoyed Grande Péreztold Something Extra that he could not be more ecstatic about the win. “We are so excited about the win. Lionel Messi is the greatest player of all time. We were so nervous, especially when it came towards the the end of the game. We could not be even more happier that we are world champions,” Here are the exciting social highlights.
