Commemorating 248 years of independence from British colonial rule, the American ambassador to Jamaica, N. Nick Perry, gathered his international friends and allies on the lawns of the US Embassy Kingston for an early Fourth of July reception. With his family in tow and scores of Jamaican politicians and dignitaries, the evening, following the theme ‘A Sparkling Jazz Affair’, embodied the notion ‘a sweet delight representing our sweet relationship’.
