Dream House | 18-y-o scores beachfront escape formerly owned by Raheem Sterling

Southsea Park, Whitehouse, Westmoreland is a gated, affluent beach enclave enriched by some of the most stylish homes on Jamaica’s south coast.

The secluded, peaceful neighbourhood was unruly interrupted by the unwelcomed brute force of nature, Hurricane Beryl, leaving the serene appearance of the environment in far less than ideal conditions. Undaunted by broken glass windows, fallen trees, beach and swimming pools filled with debris, etc., homeowners have faced the clean-up task head on.

This exuberant, modern-designed beach house, purchased in February of this year, now belongs to 18-year-old William Henry, a sixth form student of a prominent Jamaican high school for boys. Originally, it was owned by noted Jamaican-Caribbean painter Patrick Waldemar. Then it was sold to ace British footballer of Jamaican birth, Raheem Sterling.

It was built in 2020 and has now been expanded and redecorated. As we excitedly make our way through it, we are impressed by how the spaces and décor have been arranged and incorporated for maximum comfort and enjoyment of its occupants. Floors are in ceramic and marble tiles. The chosen colour is white.

There exists four bedrooms, along with five bathrooms. The living and dining room is in one, with a kitchenette, and a separate, full-service, granite implanted kitchen. Both floors unreservedly access outside via balconies and verandahs, incorporating sweeping pool, gazebo, and beach waterscapes.

Young Henry is of an artistic personality, loving to compose music and dabbling in interior decorating. He wants to pursue business management as a career after leaving high school.

The unpleasant side of nature won’t deter dream living on the seafront for these homeowners.
