In a world where the pillars of relationships stand on its physical component, one couple forged their way forward on love and faith, abstaining until the hearts met in holy matrimony. As they embarked on their new chapter into forever, Jahmila rang her wedding ‘Bell’ with a charming ‘Knight’ called Frederick.

Jahmila Bell, a validation role officer at the National Land Agency, was returning to work from lunch when she saw her blessing waiting for her around the corner. Frederick Knight, a customer care representative at the time, who was visiting his former office, just happened to walk into a beautiful familiar face. “We just bumped into each other, and there was instant chemistry,” he told Island Wedding.

The two caught up in a matter of minutes, with Jahmila noting that it had been a while since she had seen him. Frederick informed her that he had moved to a different branch, which explained his absence from the building.

Once the conversation was coming to a close, she told him to take care. But he had other plans in store. “When I walked away, he asked, ‘Hey. Can I get your number so that I can get to know you more?’” which she was happy to give. The rest is one for the history books.

Drawn to his boldness and confidence, Jahmila admired how well-mannered he was in his speech and demeanour. But Frederick was at the height of his Christian faith, and despite his attraction to her radiant beauty, he only had room for God and friendship.

This didn’t deter fate from intervening in the most unique way, turning the messy emotional rollercoaster into a beautiful message of promising love. “He didn’t want to step into anything prematurely. But he didn’t want to see me with anyone else,” Jahmila said. After both seeking the Lord, he asked her to be his date and his girlfriend. She graciously accepted both.

The catch

The pair went fishing for their first date. And Jahmila was excited because this was new territory that she was willing to explore. She watched with fascination as he reeled in his catch for the day and spent time picking fresh fruits to savour. “It was amazing! We drank coconut water and ate jelly. The fish that he caught, I cooked so that we can have a nice dinner,” she added.

Since being considered and pursued, Jahmila has loved just how handsome, caring, disciplined, faithful, and intelligent her twin flame is. “He is a man of his word. If he says he is going to do something, he gets it done. He takes charge in the most loving way,” she shared, adding, “he is very assertive and supportive. He mirrors the word of God that nurtures my personal and spiritual growth, making me glorify the Lord through his timely reminders. The beautiful thing about our relationship is that we’re open, honest, comfortable, and at peace when we are with each other”

Following their corner encounter, she had medical matters that required going to the hospital, and when she asked Frederick to accompany her, “there was something about the way he said yes”.

“He just wanted to be there. I thanked the Lord I was not alone. He prayed for me the next day, for me to be healed. And that made me know, yes, he is the one.”

Frederick continues to be mesmerised by his soulmate’s beauty and personality. “Jahmila is beautiful and intelligent. She has a wonderful heart; she is honest, virtuous and God-fearing. From the moment we met, she assisted with my walk with God, boosting my faith. She speaks life into others. We always come back to each other and talk things out when issues arise. And she is always about making the relationship nice and exciting. I just couldn’t get enough, so I embraced her.”

Enjoying just about everything together, the couple - who knew each other for two years and had dated for a year, abstaining for the dating process - unlocked a new level of commitment, one that required an engagement ring.

Walking in the grace and the favour of the Lord, the duo had an intimate proposal, using her purity and promise ring for the proposal, which she described as beautiful. Jahmila went on to plan the wedding, with God by her side.

“We didn’t want to do anything big. We’re building. The wedding isn’t the reality. It is only an event for that time only. So we got married at the Registrar General’s Department. As long as we have a beautiful glorious marriage, that’s what matters,” Jahmila highlighted.

When it came time to pick a wedding dress, the bride-to-be said yes to a stunning mermaid cut, with an off-the-shoulder sweetheart neckline and ruffle details from Unions Bridal Boutique.

On August 15, with God at the centre, the two joined hands and hearts in holy matrimony in a private and intimate wedding ceremony. The couple invited 11 closest and dearest loved ones, as per RGD’s requirement, basking in the bliss of their nuptial love.

“My bride was late. But she was beautiful. I loved the entire ceremony,” the groom shared. “The ceremony was beautiful,” Mrs Bell-Knight reflected, adding, “it was so private, so intimate, so perfect!”
