Four persons were killed this morning along the Braco main road in Trelawny when the motorcar in which they were travelling crashed into a tractor trailer heading in the opposite direction.

When The Gleaner arrived at the scene of the accident, the four bodies - all males - were still in the mangled wreckage of the Toyota Yaris motorcar in which they were travelling.

They were reportedly heading in the direction of St Ann.

The condition of the tractor trailer driver is unknown.

The accident has resulted in a major pile up of traffic along the normally business roadway as the police and medical personnel converged on the scene to offer assistance to victims of the accident

While The Gleaner was able to ascertain that there were only four persons in the motorcar, it is unclear as to how many persons were travelling in the trailer.

The stretch of roadway, along which the accident took place, is a renowned black spot and the police regularly issues releases warning motorists to drive cautiously in the area which forms part of the North Coast Highway.
