A well-known Kingston attorney remains in police custody as fraud investigators probe the theft of millions of dollars.

The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) says the lawyer is scheduled to be interviewed in the presence of his attorney later this week.

According to MOCA, the attorney was held during an operation which saw investigators carrying out raids in the Kingston 19 area and downtown Kingston.

The agency says several crucial items of probative value were seized during the day’s activities as investigations continue into a case of forgery and misappropriation of several million dollars in client funds.

Today's development follows the recent arrests and charge of two prominent lawyers on fraud-related charges.

Attorneys Harold Brady and  Michael Lorne are before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on allegations of defrauding millions of dollars.
