The much-talked about DNA legalisation was tabled by the Minister of National Security, Peter Bunting, in the House of Representatives earlier this afternoon.
The police, members of the legal fraternity and civil society groups have been calling for the implementation of the legislation as a tool to help with fighting crime.
Among other things, the bill sets out a framework for the taking of DNA samples from persons for forensic investigations and human identification.
