NASSAU, Bahamas:
Usain Bolt anchored Jamaica to a 38.08 win in the men's 4x100m heat at the IAAF World Relays inside the Thomas A Robinson Stadium with the final set for tonight at 8:56 p.m (Jamaica time).

The Jamaicans, looking to extend their unbeaten streak in the men's 4x100m at major international championships dating back to the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, were never stretched as the team of Nesta Carter, Kemar Bailey-Cole and Nickel Ashmeade secured a lane in tonight's final.

The men's 4x400m relay team of Javere Bell, Rusheen McDonald, Nathon Allen and Javon Francis also booked a place in tomorrow's final following a second place finishing in 3:02.98 behind the USA, which posted 3:02.81 with Botswana third in 3:03.08.

It was a superior run by Francis and to a lesser extent schoolboy Nathon Allen after the latter pulled the Jamaica into sixth place after receiving the baton at the back of the field.

Francis, like he did at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow, carried the team on his back to cross the line second and book an automatic spot in the final.

"The important thing was to get to the final, we will talk to the coaches about this race and hopefully we can come out to the final and do even better," said Bell.

The men's 4x400m final will close the event at 9:01 p.m tomorrow night.
