Jamaican Women of Florida Give Back to the Youth
The Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF), held its recent Women's Empowerment Conference and Scholarship Luncheon in Florida. It included panel discussions on mentoring as well as information about personal development.
Congresswoman Frederica Wilson also presented the United States Congressional Record to the JWOF members, acknowledging the work and contribution of the charitable not-for-profit organisation since its establishment in April 2013.
Two female students of Jamaican descent were recipients of the JWOF's annual
non-renewable 'Powerful Women ... Next Generation' scholarship. They are Jaime Nicely a Florida Atlantic University sophomore, and Adrianna Jones, a freshman of the University of Florida and graduate of Blanche Ely High School.
