Hayles... "I have been asked to run and I am seriously considering. I have been a two-term Member of Parliament and I have served the People's National Party well."

Veteran politician, Dr DK Duncan, could be challenged for the chairmanship of the People's National Party's (PNP) Region Five.

Two-time Member of Parliament for Western Hanover, Ian Hayles, told The Gleaner that he is contemplating mounting a challenge on Duncan.

"I have been asked to run and I am seriously considering," he said.

"I have been a two-term Member of Parliament and I have served the People's National Party well," said Hayles, a former JLP member.

"I am looking forward to a third term.”

Hayles told The Gleaner that he has very high regard for Duncan but the time for change has come.

"I have the greatest respect for Comrade Duncan but at this time, I am seriously considering offering myself to the region which comprises St James, Hanover and Westmoreland."
