Infiniti Capital Joins Financial Market
With a combined track record of more than 30 years' of performance, Infiniti Capital is adding its diversity of services to the financial sector in Jamaica.
Previously trading under the name E.W. Lewis Finance and Investments Limited, the new company, based in St Andrew and with a branch in Montego Bay, offers a full broker-service dealer, specialising in fixed-income products and a range of other services.
At a breakfast meeting last Wednesday in New Kingston, president and chief executive officer, Whycliffe 'Dave' Cameron - who also heads the West Indies Cricket Board - showcased the variety of services the 'new' company offers, including personalised wealth management, bond trading, corporate finance, secured lending, and local and international equities trading.
Partnerships locally include major insurance giant heads, Dennis and Paul Lalor, from the Insurance Company of the West Indies Group. The regional investor present was Imtiaz Rahaman of IGL from Trinidad and Tobago.
The board of directors includes chairman Robert Drummond, Eleanor Brown, Patrick Williams and Dennis Chung, and partners Imtiaz Rahaman from IGL Limited, and Dennis Lalor from the ICWI Group.
Guest speaker Subhas Ramkhelawan, a former independent senator and founder and managing director of Bourse Securities Limited, the largest independent stockbroking firm in Trinidad and Tobago, spoke clearly to four or five major points to consider in a dynamic financial market.
They were portfolio diversification by asset and currency, the benefits of hard-currency investing the timing of investing, and time horizon.
Cameron expressed the view that there could be beneficial synergies between Infiniti Capital and Bourse Securities.
